Arch Capital Advisers Pty Ltd (ABN 47 163 275 732) and Pooledfunds Pty Limited (ABN 28 073 437 742, AFSL 234543) (“Arch Capital”, “we”, “us”) are committed to protecting your privacy. We are bound by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). This policy explains how we collect, use, store and disclose your personal information, including through our website at archcapital.com.au.
What information do we collect?
To provide financial advice and related services, we may collect personal information such as:
- your name, date of birth, address, phone number and email address;
- details of your financial situation, including income, assets, liabilities, superannuation, investments, insurance and tax information;
- your objectives, needs, family circumstances and employment details;
- identification documents we are required to collect under the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Act 2006 (Cth);
- sensitive information, such as health information, where it is needed for insurance or aged care advice and only with your consent.
When you visit our website, we may automatically record information such as your IP address, browser type, pages visited, the date and time of your visit and the referring site. We use this information to understand how our website is used and to improve it.
How do we collect it?
We collect personal information directly from you, for example in meetings, by phone or email, or when you complete a form on our website. With your consent, we may also collect information from third parties such as your accountant, solicitor, superannuation fund or product issuers.
How do we use it?
We use your personal information to:
- provide you with financial advice and implement our recommendations;
- respond to your enquiries and manage our relationship with you;
- meet our legal and regulatory obligations under the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth) and other laws;
- send you information about our services, which you may opt out of at any time.
If you do not provide the information we request, we may not be able to provide you with appropriate advice.
Who do we disclose it to?
We may disclose your personal information to:
- product issuers, platforms and superannuation funds to implement our advice;
- your other professional advisers, with your consent;
- service providers who help us operate our business, such as IT, paraplanning and compliance providers;
- regulators, courts and government agencies where required or authorised by law.
Some of our service providers may store or process information outside Australia. Where this happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information is protected in line with the APPs. We do not sell your personal information.
How do we keep it secure?
We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. We retain client records for at least seven years as required by law, after which they are securely destroyed or de-identified.
Access and correction
You may request access to the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, at any time by contacting us. We will respond within a reasonable period, usually 30 days. In limited circumstances permitted by law we may refuse access, and if so we will tell you why.
